How many pages will my book have?
The estimate uses typical words per page in 11 pt type: about 250 for 5×8, 280 for 5.5×8.5, 300 for 6×9, 400 for 7×10 and 500 for 8.5×11. Fonts, spacing and margins change the real count, so treat it as a guide.
How are words and sentences counted?
A word is a run of letters or digits — "don’t" and "well-known" count as one. A sentence ends with ., !, ? or … followed by a space or the end of the text.
How are chapters detected?
Lines starting with "Chapter", "Prologue" or "Epilogue" (also "Kapitola") and Markdown headings ("# Title" or "## Title") count as chapters.
What are the most repeated phrases good for?
Repeated words and phrases are the first thing editors cut. The list shows every two-, three- and four-word phrase you used more than once.
